Smart Grid: New Age Empowerment.
The traditional “grid,” refers to the electric grid, a network of transmission lines, substations, transformers etc. that deliver electricity from the power plant to your home or business. It is what you plug into when switching on the light switch or powering up your computer.
The smart grid is built on digital and computerized equipment and technology, that automates and manages the increasing complexity and needs of electricity in the 21st Century. It is, indeed, an industry transformation that shifts the business and operational models used by utilities from a siloed approach to a more cohesive one — in 3 waves. In short, the digital technology acquires and deploys 2-way communication between utility and end users. There is sensing ability in the transmission lines, which, responds to the consumption and performance data. And, with the internet of things, further controls, automation, new computerized technologies and equipment are integrated to enhance its operation needs and efficiency.
Innovative set of smart grids and meters will be deployed by URBAN RENEWABLES with a few objectives, such as, reducing energy consumption; reducing operational and management costs for utilities, hence, lower power costs for consumers; quicker restoration of electricity after power disturbances (if any); increased integration of renewable energy systems; and improved security. We work with industry experts to ensure the benefits we envision from smart grids become a reality. Eventually, giving customers the information and tools needed for them to make choices about their energy use. Imagine the same way as managing personal banking from their home devices.
