From the extraction of natural resources to all construction processes, the sector accounted for 36% of final energy consumption, as well as 39% of energy and process-related carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions in 2018. 11% of which, resulted from manufacturing materials and products. A ‘green’ building is termed when its design, construction, and/or operation, reduces or eliminates negative impacts and can create positive impacts on our climate and natural environment throughout its lifecycle.
